Kia ora! I'm the silkie behind this part of the world wide web. I live in paradise, or you may know it as Aotearoa. Online I go by the alias of Janetta Darling - the name I connect with on a deeper level.

I am a surf widow (iykyk), which means my home is always filled with salt, sand and waiting for the tide to turn. I am the mother of one human child and three feline children who rule my heart and hearth.

I am also the self-proclaimed black sheep of my whanau. While they belong to the land, I am the one who crowns herself in ever-changing, chaotic hair colours, permanently paints stories onto her skin, and adorns her body with gold spikes and hoops like a creature out of an old storybook.

By daylight, I work as a composite technician - a modern sort of alchemy where I weave advanced fibers and shape resilient materials out of elements. But when the sun sets, I return to the quiet magic of my home.

When the daylight fades and the tools are put away, you can usually find me tangled up in the quiet magick of the world and my home. These are the threads that keep me grounded:

• Sims & Paralives: Escaping into digital simulations to build dream cottages and tell quiet stories.
• Crafting: Losing myself in tactile projects, creating hand-poured candles, crystal crowns, and other mystical crystal creations.
• Baking: Tending to the hearth and making warm, sweet things - even if I get the time to do it the least.
